BayLax Code of Conduct
As members of BayLax, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of conduct both on and off the field. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for behavior during the regular season, social events, tournament play, and travel.
Please read this Code of Conduct before completing your registration for membership.
1. Respect and Sportsmanship
Treat teammates, opponents, referees, organizers, spectators, and others with fairness and respect at all times.
Demonstrate good sportsmanship regardless of the outcome of any game.
Show respect toward friends of the team and individuals involved in travel and social events, ensuring your actions positively represent the BayLax organization and its members.
2. Team Unity and Cooperation
Support and encourage one another both on and off the field.
Work collaboratively with teammates, officers, and organizers to ensure smooth coordination during practices, scrimmages, tournaments, and team travel.
3. Alcohol and Substance Use
BayLax strictly prohibits underage substance use.
While we encourage a fun atmosphere, always know your limits and stay hydrated.
There is zero tolerance for driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol or any substance. Please use alternative transportation if you plan to consume alcohol or substances.
Illegal substances are strictly prohibited in any BayLax housing or team accommodations.
4. Respect for BayLax Equipment
Treat all BayLax equipment with care and respect. This includes uniforms, gear, training equipment, and other team assets.
Protect access to any team property, including lock codes and keys, for the benefit and security of the entire team.
Any loss, theft, or damage of team equipment should be reported immediately to team officers for resolution.
5. Accommodations and Airbnb Guidelines
Follow all rules and guidelines provided by Airbnb hosts during team travel.
Respect the property of hosts and maintain cleanliness in shared accommodations.
Show consideration for housemates and their belongings, keeping shared spaces tidy and personal items respected.
Each team member is personally responsible for any fees or damage caused to Airbnb property during the stay.
6. Travel Logistics
Arrive on time for all team events, warm-ups, and games.
If experiencing travel delays or other issues, notify teammates or officers promptly.
7. Dress Code and Uniform
Wear the team penny and athletic bottoms of your choosing (preferably black) to all games.
Ensure you are wearing NCWLO-approved protective gear, including a mouthguard and goggles, during all gameplay.
Athletic footwear, including sneakers or cleats (as appropriate), is required for all events.
8. COVID-19 Safety
All team members must take a COVID test and provide proof of a negative result before participating in any tournaments or traveling with the team.
Report any positive test results or known exposure that occurs within 5 days of a tournament to the team immediately.
9. Financial Responsibility
Pay all dues, fees, and expenses related to participation and travel in a timely manner.
Contribute fairly and promptly to shared expenses for food, gas, and other team-related costs during travel.
Notify officers immediately if there are any concerns or issues related to scrimmage or tournament fees.
By joining BayLax, players agree to uphold this Code of Conduct. Adhering to these principles ensures a positive, respectful, and successful experience for all members. Our core values of integrity, respect, and teamwork define BayLax, and each member's commitment to these values strengthens the team as a whole.
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in suspension from BayLax events (including social events, scrimmages, and tournaments) or loss of membership without refund.
